Louisiana Tech University has a General Scholarship Program administered through the Office of Admissions. In addition, each of the five colleges (Business, Applied and Natural Sciences, Education, Engineering and Science, and Liberal Arts) has its own scholarship program. General admissions information will be forwarded to some colleges, but students should contact the individual department for additional requirements.
Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of demonstrated ability, usually without regard for need. For general admissions scholarships, incoming freshmen should apply for admission by the priority deadline of January 5 (of their senior year). No separate scholarship application is needed, but ACT or SAT scores and high school transcript with GPA and rank (if applicable) should be submitted. For scholarship purposes, scores through the December test date will be accepted.
Transfer students can apply for scholarships upon acceptance to the University. Scholarships will be awarded beginning June 15th for those entering in the Fall Quarter and two weeks before the start of the quarter for those starting during the Winter or Spring.
Bulldog Out-of-State Scholarship
Students who are not residents of Louisiana may be eligible for an out-of-state scholarship which covers all out-of-state fees. For complete details, see our Bulldog Out-of-State Scholarship information page. Incoming freshmen are automatically considered for the scholarship with the completed application for admission. Transfer and enrolled students may obtain the Bulldog Out-of-State Fee Scholarship Application from the Admissions Office in Hale Hall or print it from the link provided.
International students may be eligible for the Bulldog Out-of-State Scholarship if they meet the criteria outlined in the Bulldog Out-of-State International Student information page. For the application, see the link in the above paragraph.
Grant-in-aid and Service Awards
Frequently these are awarded on the basis of special skills and require the student to render a service to the University. Included in this category are scholarships in athletics, music, band, and academic department awards. These scholarships generally require a separate application or audition; contact the respective departments for more information.
Air Force ROTC Scholarships
The Air Force Reserve Officer's Training Corps program offers a number of competitive scholarships to both men and women participants. This award may include payment of all tuition and fees, a per quarter allowance for textbooks, and a $300 per-month tax-free cash allowance.
