Private Pilot's Certificate
Each summer, the Louisiana Tech University Department of Professional Aviation hold a 12-week Private Pilot's Certificate program for incoming students. To be eligible for the Summer Certificate, students must first be admitted into the 2018-2019 Professional Aviation Program. To apply for the program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Applied to AND be accepted into Louisiana Tech University
- Achieve a 23 or higher on the ACT (1130+ on SAT)
- Completed a personal visit/meeting with Department of Aviation
Students who are accepted into the upcoming Aviation Program class will then be given the chance to sign up for the Summer Private Pilot's Certificate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All courses meet Monday - Friday and are three credit hours unless stated otherwise.

|Students will be advised and registered for classes by the Aviation Department. Schedules will consist of classroom as well as practical instruction.|
To enroll you must be at least 17 years old, have graduated from high school, pass a physical exam, and have already been accepted into the 2018-2019 Aviation Program. You must take all four courses AND live on-campus to qualify for this program. For information on flight fees, contact Tech’s Department of Aviation at (318) 257-2691.
You will receive a tuition-only scholarship if you participate in the sessions and live on campus (You will pay for Fees, Housing, and Meals). You must live on campus to receive the scholarship. Availability is first come, first served.
The following expense sheets provide examples of living on campus for either six weeks or for 12 weeks:
